Weymouth developers Lomand Homes have started construction of phase 1 of their 66 home development on Portland, which utilises a brownfield site with stunning views of the English Channel. The timber frame buildings, faced in part with local stone, are a mixture of flats and houses, and will be available for both private sale and as social housing.
Under considerable planning constraints b3 architecture Ltd, with help from NBT Consult, have managed to design these properties with the aim of meeting the stringent Passivhaus standard. This project highlights the breadth of architectural styles to which Passivhaus principles can be applied.
